Poetry

Inhale damp must.

Listen to the thunder.

Let it pound and synchronize with your own

beating heart, bloody veins, both eyes open,

sinking sucking down arms and legs dissolve

until you’re the pulsing eye of the storm.

Feel the wet.

Taste the salt.

Embed your body in black petrichor,

in the buzzing atmosphere of quiet

layered damp musty slime on forest floor,

while crumbling stones and tall trees nest your heart.
